Haiti 2010 Toy Drive - Drop-Off Locations

Connecticut Based Organization Aims To Make Christmas A Joyous Time for the Children of Haiti

Millions of children in Haiti will NOT have a single gift to open on Christmas Day!

The Connecticut Haitian American Organization, (CHAO ) Inc. / CT Haitian Earthquake Relief fund team is conducting its first annual toy drive to help make Christmas a joyous time for the children of Haiti.

We want to make sure as many children as possible will receive at least one present from Santa this year. Our goal is to collect 15,000 toys between October 11th and November 11th  , 2010.  A core team will travel to Haiti in December to deliver the toys to hospitals, orphanages and several tent cities in Port-au-Prince.

CHAO Inc. is looking for other local and national organizations which are willing to be a partner to our toy drive, by allowing the use of their facility as one of the drop off locations for collecting the toys and financial donations to be shipped to Haiti in time for the Christmas Holidays.

The Connecticut Haitian American Organization, (CHAO) Inc. was formed in October 2002, by a group of caring Haitian-American professionals living in Connecticut. CHAO is a non-profit charitable organization, operating under Section 501(c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

CHAO’s goal, since its inception, has been to promote unity within the Haitian community in order to address social issues such as immigration, access to social services, health care and educational opportunities affecting Haitians living in the United States and abroad. The welfare of Haiti is of never ending concern and interest to the organization.

CHAO helps provide relief for highly-publicized natural desasters, such as the recent devastating epic earthquake on January 12, 2010, in the capitol city of Port-au-Prince, Haiti, as well as to lesser publicized on-going difficulties encountered by the people of Haiti on a daily basis.
